I had never thought of myself as a particularly creative person; although I’ve always been the type that would look at something I wanted to buy and think “Maybe I could make that!”. Over the years I’ve made a few different homemade gifts; sometimes they worked out and sometimes not so much!

My creative journey properly began at the end of January 2019 when I realised I hadn’t yet set a New Year’s Resolution. It was actually Rob that suggested I try card making as I needed a hobby I could do at home when the boys were in bed to help take my mind off my anxiety. So, I bought a few supplies to get me started and I was completely hooked!

Mama Bear Creates was founded in September 2019 with the vision of providing quirky and unique handmade cards that you don’t see in every shop on the high street.

But oh my gosh has my business changed since then! It was during lockdown that I invested in an iPad and Apple pencil and began to learn the art of digital illustration (because I saw others doing it and thought I could do that!).

It was the best decision I ever made and I now incorporate my illustrations into all my products and I get to share a little of me with all of you.
